All Gigi Graham wants to achieve in life is make the women’s national hockey team, win an Olympic gold medal, and emerge from under the spotlight cast by her renowned father. Except for those two hiccups, everything is fine at the moment. Alright, a minor and a major grouch. She needs Luke Ryder’s assistance if she’s ever going to become a competent custodian.

Ryder is a hunky, confident, and brash six-foot-five who is also hot as hell. However, he remains the enemy.

But the new co-captain of the Briar hockey team has his justifications. The men’s squad just joined with an adversarial programme, creating a roster full of bitter players who now despise each other. After making a terrible first impression on his hero, the summer coaching position he had hoped to land with the great Garrett Graham is now out of reach. This agreement with Gigi is mutually beneficial. She convinces her father to put in a good word for her, and he helps her make the national squad.

The one and only catch? This chemistry that runs so deep it can numb your bones and whirl your brain around. They are taking a big risk, but it may pay off in the end.

The Graham Effect Book Summary

So many pleasant memories from 2017 came flooding back as I read this novel and fell in love with the characters, the romance, and the newfound family in the same way I did the first time I read The Deal. Feelings like those are prevalent throughout The Graham Effect, and not simply because of the numerous cameos by the original cast members. Gigi, the daughter of Hannah and Garrett, is experiencing a phase of life analogous to that of her parents in The Deal.

Gigi was an instantaneous favourite of mine. She is a feisty, obstinate, and dogged fighter. daughter of Hannah and Garrett in all but name. I loved that she is the hockey player sibling; it was fascinating to see how she dealt with a world not explored in the Off-Campus series, the world of women’s sports. And her character development was among the finest I’ve seen in any work by Elle Kennedy.

Ryder, too? From the grumpy beginning, he had my complete affection. I can’t say much more than that, but I absolutely adored him and found myself fawning over him. Really, what more could I want?

The way Gigi and Ryder were able to speak with each other was one of the healthiest examples of fictional relationship communication I’ve ever seen, and it gave me big grumpy/sunshine, perceived foes to lovers, forbidden romance vibes. I was present for all the tense, exciting, and satisfying parts!

And there were a plethora of wonderful supporting characters that I adored as well. Since I got a strong sense that we might have found a new family member in each of them, I can’t wait to hear their backstories.

But there were a few things that left me with mixed feelings, even if they didn’t detract from my overall enjoyment. As this is an extremely early assessment, there are some details I will return to and elaborate on after the release.

So, yeah, I enjoyed The Graham Effect overall, and I gave it five stars for the sheer pleasure and nostalgia I felt while reading it. This book is a must-read for any former or current devotee of the original series.
