Because of her prickly pride, Nesta Archeron has always been quick to anger and reluctant to forgive. And ever since she was thrown into the Cauldron against her will and become High Fae, she has fought to find her place in this strange and dangerous world. The conflict with Hybern was a terrible experience, and she still can’t seem to get over the things she lost.

Cassian, the battle-scarred warrior and member of Rhysand and Feyre’s Night Court, is the one person who can set Nesta off more than anyone else. Cassian sparks more than just her anger, though. The tension between them is palpable, and the closer they are, the hotter it gets.

The human queens who fled back to the Continent during the previous conflict, however, have formed a new and potentially disastrous coalition that threatens the peace that has settled over the kingdoms. And it’s possible that stopping them will require both Cassian and Nesta to confront their own traumatic histories.

Nesta and Cassian fight monsters both internal and external as they seek acceptance and healing in one other’s embraces against the backdrop of a planet ravaged by war and plagued by uncertainty.

A Court of Silver Flames Book Summary

I can’t believe how much I enjoyed it, and it’s driving me crazy. From what I’d gathered from the reviews, I should expect a lot of purring, some absurd sex scenes, and frequent declarations of “my mate.” But sigh there’s something about this series that warms even my jaded soul. I find it hilarious, but I just can’t bring myself to dislike it.

Therefore, accept my hand, ladies. Let us delve into my comprehensive musings, which I have compiled in a list with no discernible pattern or theme:

Nesta can be so haughty at times. I understand that it is complicated and that there is an element of feminism in portraying her as a protagonist rather than a villain, but jeez, lady. Master some fundamental etiquette. I sometimes question if SJM went too far in ACO TAR by making Nesta the selfish stepsister. It’s difficult to escape that image. In this novel, she attempts to justify it by stating that Nesta was angry with her father for giving up and failing to provide for his daughters. To make a point, Nesta was prepared to let them all starve to death.

-Rhys tells Nesta, “Obviously, you have a choice. You always have a choice here’, as he did not compel Nesta out of her flat, into one of his residences from which she cannot escape, into training with Cassian, into working in the library, etc. There must be more effective methods to stage an intervention. I am aware that they did it out of love, but Tamlin also acted out of love.

Everyone dislikes Tamlin because he gave Nesta and Elain to the King of Hy bern (which he did to save Feyre), but it is acceptable for Rhys to threaten to murder Nesta if she harms Feyre.
