Mahavatar Babaji is the name given to an Indian yogi by Yogiraj Lahiri Mahasaya and several of his pupils, Sri Yukteswar Giri, Baba Nasib Singh Ji, Ram Gopal Muzumdar, Swami Kebalananda, and Swami Pranabananda Giri, who met him between 1861 and 1935. Paramahansa Yogananda chronicled some of these encounters in his 1946 book Autobiography of a Yogi, which included a report on Yogananda’s own encounter with the yogi. Sri Yukteswar Giri provided another storey in his 1894 book The Holy Science. Babaji was Lord Shiva, according to Sri M’s autobiography (apprenticed to a Himalayan Master).

He discusses Babaji changing his shape to that of Lord Shiva in the second final chapter of his book. Various biographies detail all of these accounts, as well as more reported meetings. Babaji has lived in the remote Himalayan regions of India for at least hundreds of years, according to Yogananda’s autobiography, and has only been seen in person by a tiny handful of disciples and others.

Mahavatar Babaji Age

Babaji is also said to be ageless, according to some reports, and to be around 500 years old, according to Pranabananda, in the late 1800s. Nobody knows Babaji’s age, family, place of birth, genuine name, or other “close to the annalist’s heart” details, according to Lahir’s students, Yogananda adds. But despite of all that we still have no proven facts and evidence that proves Mahavatar babaji’s real age.

Guru of Mahavatar Babaji

Sri Alakh Puriji is the Guru of the legendary Babaji, according to Swami Maheshwarananda in his book The Hidden Power in Humans. Sri M (Mumtaz Ali) recounts his interaction with Babaji at Neelkant hill in his autobiography Apprenticed to a Himalayan master: a yogi’s autobiography (2010).

Mahavatar Babaji’s Sister Mataji

Mahavatar babaji has a sister named Mataji (meaning “Holy Mother”) who has also survived throughout the centuries, according to Yogananda’s autobiography. Her spiritual achievement is comparable to that of her brother, and she lives in a cave in a state of spiritual ecstasy. Despite the fact that she receives barely three pages in the book, Ram Gopal describes her as “young and surpassingly attractive” as well as a “wonderful woman.”

Mahavatar Babaji and Jesus

According to Yogananda’s book The Second Coming of Christ, Jesus Christ travelled to India and met with Mahavatar Babaji. Babaji would be at least 2000 years old if this is true. Babaji Nagaraj’s father, according to Govindan’s book, was the village’s temple priest.

Where is Mahavatar Babaji Now?

Mahavtaar Babaji has been said to remain alive forever. He’s changed his physique 34 times since he was a child. He has been teaching Kriya Yoga to many other Yogis and Mahayogis for over 2,500 years. It is said that if you want to meet so you can do only by practicing his kriya yoga, he will come to you when you are ready. For all these claims we have no proven reports and evidence to consider it as a fact.

Mahavatar Babaji Kriya Yoga Techniques

Kriya Yoga is a scientific art of absolute God-Truth unification and Self-Realization developed by Babaji. It was resurrected by Babaji Nagaraj, a famous Indian Master, as a fusion of ancient Siddha teachings. It consists of a set of procedures known as “Kriyas” that are divided into five phases or branches.

Babaji’s Kriya Yoga has five branches.

Hath yoga

Kriya Hatha Yoga consists of “asanas,” or relaxing physical postures, “bandahs,” or muscular locks, and “mudras,” or psycho-physical gestures, all of which promote better health, calm, and the awakening of the main energy pathways, or “nadis,” and centres, or “chakras.” Babaji has chosen a set of 18 postures that are taught in stages and in pairs and are especially effective. The physical body is cared for as a vehicle or temple of the Divine, not for its own purpose.

Pranayama

Kriya Kundalini Pranayama is a powerful breathing technique that awakens one’s potential strength and consciousness and circulates it through the seven major chakras that run from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. It activates the dormant faculties linked with the seven chakras, transforming the individual into a dynamo on all five realms of life.

Kriya Dhyan Yoga

Kriya Dhyana Yoga is a series of progressive meditation techniques for learning the scientific art of mastering the mind – to cleanse the subconscious, develop concentration, mental clarity, and vision, awaken the intellectual, intuitive, and creative faculties, and achieve the breathless state of communion with God, “Samadhi,” and Self-Realization.

Mahavatar babaji Mantra (Yoga)

Kriya Mantra Yoga is the silent mental repeating of subtle sounds to awaken the intuition, intellect, and chakras; the mantra replaces “I”-centered mental chatter and allows for the buildup of large amounts of energy. The mantra also cleanses subconscious inclinations that are habitual.

Bhakti Yoga

Kriya Bhakti Yoga is the practise of cultivating the soul’s desire for the Divine. It comprises chanting and singing, ceremonies, pilgrimages, and worship, as well as devotional activities and service to awaken unconditional love and spiritual happiness. As the “Beloved” is experienced in everyone, all of one’s activities gradually become immersed in sweetness.

How to practice kriya yoga?

Kriya Yoga is a basic psycho-physiological strategy for decarbonizing and recharging the human blood with oxygen. The extra oxygen atoms are converted into life current, which rejuvenates the brain and spinal areas. The yogi can minimise or avoid tissue degeneration by halting the accumulation of venous blood; the accomplished yogi can transform his cells into pure energy. Elijah, Jesus, Kabir, and other prophets were masters of Kriya or a comparable method that allowed them to materialise and dematerialize their bodies at whim.”
